Commercial Roofing — Atlanta, GA
TPO is the single-ply roofing membrane we install most on Atlanta commercial buildings — and for good reason. It reflects up to 78% of solar heat, which matters a lot in Metro Atlanta summers. On a 10,000 sq ft warehouse, we've seen clients cut their cooling costs by $300 to $600 a month after switching from a dark-surface built-up roof to a white 60-mil TPO membrane. That's a real number, not a sales pitch.
Not all TPO is the same. We use Carlisle SynTec and Firestone UltraPly — both of which hold up better in UV exposure and thermal cycling than cheaper imports. The 60-mil thickness we specify costs more upfront than 45-mil, but it doesn't develop micro-cracks around penetrations and fasteners the way thinner membrane does after a few Georgia windstorm freeze-thaw cycles.
Our Atlanta TPO installations use heat-welded seams only — no adhesive, no tape. A heat-welded seam on 60-mil TPO is actually stronger than the membrane itself when done correctly. We pull test strips on every job to verify weld strength before we move on. I've seen too many low-bid TPO jobs where the seams were "sealed" with lap caulk because the welder wasn't hot enough or moved too fast. Those seams fail within two years.
Penetrations are where most flat roof leaks originate — HVAC curbs, pipe boots, drains, parapet transitions. We strip in every penetration with factory-fabricated accessories that we heat-weld to the field membrane. No field-cut patches around pipes. Every penetration gets a two-layer boot with the same membrane as the field sheet.
We provide a 10-year workmanship warranty on all Atlanta TPO installations, backed by the manufacturer's 15 or 20-year material warranty depending on thickness. Call (877) 349-0250 for a no-obligation commercial roof evaluation and Energy Star savings estimate.
Flat and low-slope roofing systems require specialized membrane installation to achieve a watertight seal across the entire surface. We install TPO (thermoplastic polyolefin), EPDM (ethylene propylene diene monomer), PVC membrane, modified bitumen, and built-up roof systems — selecting the right membrane for your building's needs, climate, and budget.
Installation begins with rigid insulation boards over the roof deck, providing thermal performance and a smooth substrate. The membrane is rolled out and adhered with adhesive, heat-welded at seams (TPO and PVC), or torch-applied (modified bitumen). Every parapet wall, drain, pipe penetration, and HVAC curb gets custom-fabricated flashing. For built-up roofs, we mop or spread alternating layers of bituminous felt and asphalt to build a multi-ply waterproof system. Reflective elastomeric coatings can be applied for additional UV protection and energy savings. All flat roof installations are verified for proper drainage slope and building code compliance.
60-mil white TPO reflects 78% of solar heat — measurable cooling savings every summer.
Every seam welded to factory spec — stronger than the membrane itself.
Prefabricated boots and flashings heat-welded in — no field-cut patches.
Backed by manufacturer 15 or 20-year material warranties on Carlisle and Firestone products.
We core the existing assembly to check insulation moisture and deck condition before quoting.
Single layer: recover with new ISO insulation. Multiple layers or wet insulation: full tear-off.
Polyiso insulation screwed to deck at code-required fastener density for wind uplift.
60-mil Carlisle or Firestone TPO rolled out, mechanically fastened at perimeter, fully adhered at field.
Every seam welded at 1,050°F and pull-tested — we document results and leave them with you.
